A smoke demon being used as fuel steals from the people of Agrabah.

In disguise Abis Mal sells Jasmine a powder, claiming it's a cheaper and better burning fuel. Believing this could help her people Jasmine gives it to the kingdom despite Aladdin's reservations. They soon realize that, when burned, the power produces a smoke creature trained to steal for Abis Mal.

Abis Mal eagerly tries to magic powder Haroud painstakingly got from a desert hiding place. The smoke from its fire assumes a demonic shape, which volunteers to do their bidding. So they divide it into small portions of 'top quality fuel', hoping each fire's vapor shape will bring them rich loot, especially after princess jasmine buys the bulk for the palace and distribution among the poor. But once enough is used, the vapor shapes unity to reassemble the mighty city wrecking monster Rootmoot. It can only be fought with water, not even by Genie. Aladin and his party trick it to the well they discovered in the desert outskirts of Agrabah.
